What should I do if Projzilla crashes when I import Bugzilla data?

Question:

What should I do if Projzilla crashes when I import Bugzilla data?

Answer:

Projzilla expects certain data fields to be populated from Bugzilla.  When those fields are not present, Projzilla has trouble with it.  To test the Bugzilla data, go to Tools->Test Bugzilla XML.  Select your Bugzilla XML file and validate either the first bug or all bugs (depending on your selection in the drop down).  Projzilla will then run a series of tests against the XML and provide you with feedback and tips about how to fix these problems.

If the crash continue, please contact support and we'll help you.

How do I get Projzilla to import Bugzilla data with a circular reference?

Question:

How do I get Projzilla to import Bugzilla data with a circular reference?

Answer:

Microsoft Project does not allow for circular references.  Projzilla will terminate the population of a Project file with any circular references.  There is a work around that can be done by editing "C:\Program Files\Projzilla\Config\SystemConfig.xml" and changing the value of "DropCircularReferences" from "false" to "true".  Whenever Projzilla finds a circular reference when creating a Project file, it will then drop the dependency.

How should I use the CSV Import?

Question:

How best should I use the CSV import functionality?

Answer:

We recommend that you do not use the CSV import functionality since bugzilla does not export all of the information that it does using XML.  (The CSV format from Bugzilla drops dependency information.)  But if you are going to do it anyways, here are some tips:

0.  Create your search to generate bugs in Bugzilla.  Ensure you include all of the resolutions and statuses.

1.  After running the search, select "Change Columns" from the bottom of the results page.  Put check marks beside each of the fields.

2.  Click CSV at the bottom of the page to get the CSV results.

3.  Launch Projzilla and when at the import step, select CSV from the Open file drop down and select the file.

4.  Proceed with the import as you usually would.
